In this episode, Scott Becker expands on 3 different types of portfolios.
1. Conservative
5 to 20% S&P 500
80 to 95% treasury bonds
2. Balanced Portfolio. Here think 40 to 60% in the S&P 500 index and the balance in US Treasuries. More room for growth than portfolio 1 but also more room for losses.
3. Growth Portfolio. Here think 80 to 90% S&P 500 index and the balance in treasury bonds. Here you need the stomach to withstand short term ups and downs but the longer term upside should be much more than portfolio 1 or 2.
