- The ups and downs of being a white collar young professional. There was a period of time during Covid and the end of Covid where the white collar job market was soaking up jobs so fully that it was an employee’s market. Now we see big accounting and consulting firms get much tougher on young outstanding and talented people. This is shocking too many that had been doing good to great work and have never got anything but great grades. It’s a reminder and a kick in the face for many that you need to be not just good but obsessed with greatness and adding value. How can you be a beast. How can you be in Jack Welch’s famous words first or second.
